Weigh-in Wednesday

Weigh In Wedneday

Today I'm link inking up with these 3 awesome girlies for weigh in Wednesday!

Even though I blew out my back on Sunday I have made it to the gym the last three days.  Mind you they were very mild workouts and consisted more of stretching than anything else.  Honestly I went more to stay in the habit than anything else it's all a mind game sometimes :)

So Monday was the last day for my Group X Training.  So that also meant it was weigh in and measurement day.  I was nervous because I have been yo-yoing that same 3 pounds for the last month.  Well I got on and was only down 1 pound from the beginning of the month (171) boo!
But the awesome thing is I am actually down 3% body fat.  As Soben explained I am losing weight (pure fat) and replacing it with muscle, WOOO WHOOO  I take that any day!  So I figured I needed to take some new progression photos for ya...
transformation, weightloss,

Wow when I look at that it really shows how far I've come in the last year.  The crazy thing there is only about a 10 pound difference in the last two pics.  So even though the scale is not going down as fast as I would like I am seeing results!!

Oh and my weight this week is 171.8 so I'm down 0.4   I'll  take it

Holy iPad

Hi all....
I know are you dying from surprise two posts in two days what-wha???
Well it just so happens I'm writing this post from my fancy-shmancy iPad..... What the heck. I know I almost died from shock myself.

Turns out the Hubs actually likes me (go figure).  Even after my mostly gone with the girls weekend  I was sitting in my craft room when the Hubs comes walking in with a brand new iPad!

I was like wow that's nice, where'd it come from?  Turns out a friend of his needed some electrical work done, but was low on funds but not stuff :) so he asked if the hubs would work for an iPad. Knowing  how much I love apple products (even though he is very anti apple) he figured his baby momma could use a a bigger screen than my tiny iPhone.  Ahhh what a sweetie.

On the work out front I've been kicken ass and taking names! Until Sunday that is when I tweaked my back doing twisting ball throws with a 12pound medicine ball.  All I can say is OUCH! That shit hurts.  I'm so pissed I haven't had any back issues for almost 2 years the good news is though it hurts it's only slowing me down and not completely stopping me.

Last week I did my group x training on Monday  & Wednesday then on Tuesday & Thursday I was up at 3:30am to bust out 3 miles on the treadmill.  Friday was rest day then Saturday was supposed to be a run day but I totally slept in, and Sunday was more group training ( where I hurt my back). I'm thinking it was a combination of things since I have done that move many times.  I'm sure walking around the fair, standing for hours on end at the concert, then massages (my muscles to relaxed perhaps??) might have played a part.

And quite a few Advil.  I also may or may not have taken one of my friends prescription ibuprofen.

So I called Soben and asked her what she thought about me coming in yesterday (it was our last group class and I really didn't want to miss it) she said to go ahead and come in and we would do a lot of stretching and modifying of moves.  I was a bit nervous but I'm glad I went, my back actually feels better.  More sore and tight than hurting so I went ahead and braved a run this morning (though it was more like a shuffle this time around).  I'm hoping to feel better and the week goes on and if not I'll make an appointment with the chiro. But I'm staying positive and taking it a little slower.

Giant Wieners and Mud Baths

Yup you read that right!!

It actually sounds worse (and funnier) than it is.  Let me explain....
This weekend was wicked busy, but so fun.  It started off Friday with my girls Kyss and Nell we were going to see Weezer in concert and it just so happened that it was at the OC Fair.   Well, I haven't been to any kind of fair in about 10 years so I totally have missed this, whole fry every and anything you can think of fad....  So of course I had to try some when I got there

Yea that is totally a foot long corndog (or giant wiener as we called it ALL night) I would love to tell you I didn't eat the whole thing but I would be sooo lying, and yes it was fan-freakin-tastic!  I also did have one beer (cause really that's all I could afford the fair is damn expensive $12 for a beer ya NO!)  oh and I also had one deep fried cookie dough, honestly that was just ok (hence only one lol).  I didn't feel to bad about it.  I made sure to eat a very healthy and low cal breakfast and dinner knowing I was going to the fair.  We also walked over 5 miles according to my Fitbit, so that was my one shot at fried fair food... Really I didn't miss much.  Oh and Weezer was so fun it was baby's first concert!

Next came Saturday and my bestie  Kyss surprised us all by taking us to Glen Ivy Spa, as a thank you for throwing her bridal showers (a few years ago) and more recently her baby shower.
She booked a private cabana, stress relief massages, and moisturizing treatments.  Talk about pampering and relaxing.  It was a wonderful day.  We lounged around the pools, distressed   by soaking in the mineral spas, had a yummy and healthy lunch (I had a BBQ chicken salad with dressing on the side).

All in all it was a great weekend with my girlies... I need to do this more often that's for sure!

Weigh-In Not Wednesday and TMI

I know I know I said I wasn't going to be late any more... Well to tell you the truth it isn't as much late as I was pissed!  I only lost 0.2  pounds so now I am at 172.2.   I know it's a loss and I should be happy but I have been teetering on the brink of the 160's like forEVER  and I'm so sick of it.
I have been spot on with eating, and totally killin it at the gym.  I'm sure some of it has to do with TOM again... Yup you read that right

 ***FYI TMI TIME***

TOM came to visit me around 4th of July weekend (hence the crazy gain) then it was business as usual, or so I thought.  I have had this slight pain in what I can only descried as my left ovary for that last few months.  not bad, but def getting worse every month.  I kind chalked it up as "weird cramps" but then last month I felt a lump.  YEA just a bit scary so I made an appt. with my girly doctor.  The only problem is she is on vacation.  So I need up seeing a different DR. last week  Big MISTAKE!! I was literally sitting in that stupid gown on the table for like 45min at least.  Then when the DR. came in she was like in there for 10 MAYBE 15 minutes tops (and that included checking out my lady parts).  In the 30 seconds I had to tell her what it felt like and show her, she felt it real fast then waved it off and said "oh it's just scar tissue from your C-Section" ... YO lady I had those things like 19 and 6 years ago and this just started hurting like a few months ago when my period started becoming all wonky and sometimes having like 2 in a month. WTF???   So anyway now that you know more than any one wants to really know about a person, TOM came again yesterday and that little lump hurts like HELL!  Needless to say looks like I'm going back to the DR.  but I'm going to wait till mine is back from vacation!

It's Official

Welp it's official I have started Half Marathon training as of this morning!!!

I haven't signed up for the actual race yet yea though my legs and mind are ready for the commitment my wallet not so much and the I'm thinking of possibly doing a different race than the Long Beach Half.  It's the Spooktacular 10k but they also have a half mary course.  No other reason than it's a bit cheaper, way closer to my house the bling sooo freaking cute.

I just love sugar skulls chalk it up to my Mexican heritage I suppose lol.  So I  haven't quite decided yet but I am doing one go them so it's time to get out and hit the pavement, or in this case, this morning it was the rubber as I did my run on the treadmill at 4:00AM!! Damn it was early but I'm really trying to balance my workout routines and being home with the family, and keeping up with my house (somewhat)!

Really it should be illegal to sweat this much at this time of the morning!

Weigh-In Wednesday

Hi all just popping in for a quick sec to let you all know how weigh in went to day.  I was up 2 pounds (172.4) .  I guess that hamburger left it's mark Oh ya and the ribs the Hubs made on Sunday didn't help much either.  But it's ok I'm hittin' it hard at the gym this week, and am rocking the food choices.  So I hope to have a good loss next week.

On another note I have started running again I kinda took a break not intentionally really just sorta fell out of the habit when I started doing the group training at the gym.  I have discovered that I really, REALLY love lifting weights and doing a crossfit style of work out (also the fact that it is hot as hell here didn't help).   But the other morning it was it was so nice and cool and a bit over cast when I woke up... I just felt like I wanted to lace up my kicks and go so I did.  I was a pretty good run for not running for almost 2 months.  I mean if you don't count the one minute sprints we do during training.  I was pleasantly surprised at my pace and found that my speed actually has increased but I did need to take a few walk breaks (my lungs weren't as ready as my legs were for the run).  BUT that being said I'm 99.9% positive I'm going to do the Long Beach Half Marathon in October so as of next week I have 12 weeks to train!!  Time to break out the Hal Higdon training plan...

Biggest Loser Celebration

Well we finally had our final weigh in for the Biggest Loser competition at work...

I WON!!  Well I actually won 1/2  but I'll take it.  We were playing for most weight lost (I won that ) and for most inches lost (K won that but only by 0.4%) sooo close but hey I won't complain that's an extra $63 in my pocket for doing what I'm doing anyway.

So then what did I do afterward.... Go out a celebrate of course

Burger, Food

Ya that is a big ol' fat burger from Red Robin.  I have been craving a burger like forever and to help curb the cravings and stay on track I have been have a Boca Burger or the Morning star Chipotle Black Bean burger.  Both are really good but it just wasn 't doing it for me.  I couldn't get the craving for a burger burger out of my mind.  So I decided to go ahead and just give myself permission to just go and have it.  I had the Blue Burger my fave and yes I had the fries  cause really what is a burger without fries and that giant beer.  I have to admit it was soooo good.  I did feel a little guilt but I won't lie I  enjoyed every last bite of that sucker.

Yes I know a lot of people would say not to reward your self with food your not a dog  but ya know what sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.  I don't always do it, but yes once in a while I will treat my self to a small cone from Mickey D's after a super awesome sweat sesh, or after being really good with my diet I will "splurge a little".  I think it helps me stay on track and not go off the deep end and binge.  I know this doesn't work for everyone, but it does for me so I will as always do what works for me.  This is the rest of my life and I just don't see me living without a burger, or ice cream, or a big fat burrito, every once in a while.    Everything in moderation right??  cause I did turn down dessert :)

Weigh -In Wednesday

Happy Wednesday all, hope you are having a good one.  I know I said I would be a better blogger and all but shit is still crazy around here.  Not so much planned things but there has been some life and living changes going on.  But first I will tell ya all how my weigh in went today... I'm back down to 170.4  down (-3.4)  as I had hoped last week it was water weight due to my lovely friend TOM.  So now that I am back on track I hope to be in the 160's real soon!  I've been hitting my Group X workouts hard then doing a half hour of cardio after and typically burn about 700-900 cals.   This picture was after a Sunday workout then I followed it up with a green protein smoothie after, recipe will be on here shortly :)

So now to life/living changes.  After teaching in my 2 year old class for 12 years I have moved classes.  The teacher in the 3 year old class retired and I threw my name into the hat of wanting the position.  I know most wouldn't think one year wouldn't  make a difference but you my friends would be wrong!  It's crazy how much a child grows and how much more independent they are (not to mention potty trained, I have been changing diapers and potty training kiddlets for the last 12 yrs holy crap that's alotta well...crap) So the last week and a half I have been getting to organize and make the room my own.  Sounds like fun and it is, but again there is a lotta crap, the teacher that left had been there 20 years and in that time I'm sure you can imagine how much stuff is accumulated.  So I have spent any extra time cleaning and organizing. Then as far as living TaTa has started moving her stuff up to my mom's house so we are kind of in limbo.  TaTa moving her stuff out and me slowly moving my stuff in (it's going to be my new craft room) YIPPEEE I'll be glad to not have to do my crafting/sewing/and what not at the kitchen table anymore.  I'm sad to see her go but I will have to admit it's been quiet around here with the girls NOT fighting or me yelling at the dog (TaTa is taking her dog Emily with her).
So that is why I'm still MIA I promise, really promise to kick it up!

one of my super cool gifts

Weigh-In Wednesday

I'm finally not late... Ok yes it's evening but at least it's not a day late.

Any who I'm actually up this week. 173.8  so that is (+3.4) I'm a little bummed but not that much I know or should I say hope that is because TOM is just around the corner. So I'm guessing, again hoping it is mostly water weight.

As far as my goals in July go, I resigned with my trainer for the group X training. So I will be meeting with my trainer and the group on Mondays and Wednesdays and doing my own thing on the other days I'm still working out a concrete schedule as to what that will be though.

So that's all I've got for tonight. Hope you all have a great and safe 4th of July!
