If It's Too Loud... You're Too Old

Happy Day after Mother's Day hope you all had a wonderful one!
I'm still recovering myself.
Mother's Day was actually very restful, all I did was do some grocery shopping, some food prep for the week, and snuggled on the couch with DQ.
I was still recovering from my Mother's Day with TaTa that we celebrated on Saturday.
We went to Wango Tango and was sooo much fun.
I will admit I'm kinda a concert whore.  I love all types of music so I will go to any show.
It was pretty cool because I actually took TaTa to her first concert when she was 6 (Dixie Chicks see told ya all kinds of music) and it has, over the years become our thing. I also took her to her first Wango Tango about 10 years ago  and now here we are drinking beers at one.  Besides the beer and one cocktail we were really good. We did a workout in the morning and we made sure to eat a  healthy lunch on the way.  I also brought my new favorite snack!

But  Gawd I have gotten old.  I sent this text to Carrie about 1/3 of the way into the night.

Here is a little taste of our night!  I may be old but I love dance music (and Calvin Harris and ZEDD were both there) so I got a great work out in dancing and jumping all around. My fitbit tracked over 20.000 steps!

Then towards the end of the night TaTa's favorite came on Ed Sheeran and some people who were leaving early asked if it was just the two of us when I told them yes they gave us their 3rd row floor seat tickets.

TOTALLY AWESOME!! who ever you were THANK YOU!!
You made my daughter one happy girl :)
 ******************************************

Oh and I hit all my goals for the week:
2 Body Pump Classes
one weight on my own (done at the park w/TaTa and our own body weight)
and 3 miles done

This week will be the same for lifting
 5 miles run/walk/elliptical
also I want to keep my macronutrients 40/30/30
(I'll explain this on Wednesday but basically I want to stay 40% carbs, 30% Protein and 30% fat)
in my daily diet

Also you should go check out these lovely ladies
from the Motivational Monday Team and their awesome link-up :) And some Marvolus Monday links here.

Living on a Prayer!!

OMG I survived the weekend and I'm actually feeling pretty amazing (except for some super tight quad muscles, but I guess that's what you get when you dance all night to Bon Jovi then run a Half Marathon a day later haha.  So I don't overwhelm I'll tell you how the first part of the weekend went.

Friday was an early day I only worked 6:30 to 9:30 (and I made the hubs come with so i didn't have to double back and pick him up before heading to packet pick up.  So he got to see all my kiddos in action and of course they were on their best behavior, go figure.  So after that we stopped for breakfast then off to Long Beach for packet pick up. It was well organized and pretty painless.  I made the poor hubs walk around with me so I could get some shot blocks and body glide for race day.  I totally got some knarly scabs on my back from my bra on my last long run, so I wanted to make sure to lube up this time.  It was nice and bigger than the last expo I went to I even won a loaf of bread!! Haha can we say carb load.

Then it was off to L.A to see Jon and the guys.  We actually stayed at the Marriott which was so awesome it was literally across the quad form the Staples Center where they were playing.

The view from our hotel.  It was a very nice hotel the only problem I had was we were already paying a pretty penny for the room, but then we had to pay $40 to valet park!!  Seriously and there was NO other option except the garage next door which was $50.  Talk about ripoff!

Anyway we checked in then got ready and headed over to Yard House for dinner!

Yumm does Martinis count as carb loading??
Then off to the show,  Bon Jovi was so awesome!!  They came out guns a blazing not even an opening act.  It was so fun and talk about an eclectic group of people.  The people watching was about as good as the show.
We pretty much rocked out all night and I so sang and dance my heart out.  I just LOVE concerts, I used to go all the time but then kinda just stopped.  I think it was because I so unhappy about the way I looked and just left lazy in general, but now watch out I'm ready to party!!

Part 2 of the never ending weekend....running edition next 😳!!

5...10...13.1

Ok so I totally thought I hit publish on Monday night ya not so much... But here you go anyways :)

Ugh Monday really already!! I totes coulda used one more recovery day...
I guess that's what happens when your brain thinks it's 25 but your body says HELL NO lady!! You wish.

So Friday was the  Maroon 5 concert with TaTa and my girls it was so fun we had a blast oaf course way to many beers but at least the food was healthier (Flame Broiler if you don't know what that is think healthier chicken and rice bowl).

Yup waayyy to many beers!!

Needles to say I spent most of Saturday recupping and hydrating so that I didn't die on my 10 miler on Sunday.  My knees were a bit tender from standing on the crazy hill durning the concert (lawn seats) and dancing while trying not to fall down said hill.  Saturday night Barbie got to my place about 6 so we had dinner and just chilled, talked trash, and watched trash. We went to bed pretty early as we both are old farts and wanted to get the run over with as early as possible.  damn 6am comes earlier on a weekend it seems.  So up and at em and out the door we went.  The weather was perfect even maybe a bit chilly I LOVED IT...come on fall I'm so ready.

We did our 10 miles around the park it's about a 3 mile loop so we ran it 3 times and it went really well. We were faster than we thought and averaged a 11:49 pace for the whole run which included about 4 walk breaks the last one being a bit longer cause B had a stich in her side.  We are so excited for next Sunday it's finally race day. Hello Long Beach Half,, !  I'm feeling so good going into this one I just hope I don't jinx it lol...

Giant Wieners and Mud Baths

Yup you read that right!!

It actually sounds worse (and funnier) than it is.  Let me explain....
This weekend was wicked busy, but so fun.  It started off Friday with my girls Kyss and Nell we were going to see Weezer in concert and it just so happened that it was at the OC Fair.   Well, I haven't been to any kind of fair in about 10 years so I totally have missed this, whole fry every and anything you can think of fad....  So of course I had to try some when I got there

Yea that is totally a foot long corndog (or giant wiener as we called it ALL night) I would love to tell you I didn't eat the whole thing but I would be sooo lying, and yes it was fan-freakin-tastic!  I also did have one beer (cause really that's all I could afford the fair is damn expensive $12 for a beer ya NO!)  oh and I also had one deep fried cookie dough, honestly that was just ok (hence only one lol).  I didn't feel to bad about it.  I made sure to eat a very healthy and low cal breakfast and dinner knowing I was going to the fair.  We also walked over 5 miles according to my Fitbit, so that was my one shot at fried fair food... Really I didn't miss much.  Oh and Weezer was so fun it was baby's first concert!

Next came Saturday and my bestie  Kyss surprised us all by taking us to Glen Ivy Spa, as a thank you for throwing her bridal showers (a few years ago) and more recently her baby shower.
She booked a private cabana, stress relief massages, and moisturizing treatments.  Talk about pampering and relaxing.  It was a wonderful day.  We lounged around the pools, distressed   by soaking in the mineral spas, had a yummy and healthy lunch (I had a BBQ chicken salad with dressing on the side).

All in all it was a great weekend with my girlies... I need to do this more often that's for sure!

Bouncy PitBull

Ok, so I've been MIA for a week it's not that I don't love you all, it has just been the craziest week since like E-VER!  Here I'll recap it for you.
Tuesday was so much awesomeness my head almost exploded.  My girlies and I went to the PitBull and Ke$ha concert in Hollywood.  It was AMAZE-BAlls like really we literally danced like 4 hours straight!  Ke$ha was just so-so her music is fun and great to dance to be she sounds really bad live can we say auto-tune much, and is even to raunchy for my taste ok maybe not but she just tries to hard.  PitBull  on the other hand was like sex in a bottle.  That man is muy caliente  (for you non spanish speakers that mean very effn HOT) and he can sing and dance.  He kept the show going all night and was full of energy.  I will figure out a way to see him again soon!

Then as beat as I was (we didn't get home until 1:30am and had to work the next day) I had to spend Wednesday evening making a zillion cupcakes and put together "pony treats" (apples & carrots) for DQ's birthday party.

Then Thursday was the day.  DQ had a great time at her party and all went smooth.  It was at Pump It Up   which is a huge warehouse filled with every imaginable bouncy house, where the kids (and in my case the adults) are set free to go bat shit crazy!  It was a great time and instead of doing the "typical mom" thing and sit around and chat I got my butt in those bouncers and went nuts it was soooo much fun.  I went so nuts I even have a battle wound to prove it

Yup that's what happens when you go bouncing with a bunch of 6 year olds.

Also about weigh-in I was very nervous last week I have not been to the gym or done any sort of "real" work out in over a week and a half.  But I lost -1 pound!!! I am 171.4 Holy Shit! that is amazing.  Not the fact that I lost but that I am almost out of the 170's.

I am actually really happy with how last week went I knew I wasn't going to be able to get to the gym with everything going on so I made sure to eat well, and squeeze in any "extra" activity I could.  I walked a few times on my lunch break.  I danced at the concert all night and when any one wanted more beer (yup it happened) I would volunteer  to go get it, and I loved bouncing with the kiddos instead of just standing around and chatting.  It was an awesome week over all.
