That's Not Healthy

We all know that eating healthy, exercising,  and changing our habits for the better translates into smaller numbers on the scale, looking better, and, feeling better.

But how do we know when it's really sinking in??

Let me set the stage for you all...

It's  Wednesday in DQ's Kindergarten class and they are getting ready to have lunch.
In walks Nee's mom who brought McDonald's for her.  DQ walks up to her...

DQ: "Ya know you really shouldn't bring Nee McDonald's for lunch all the time"
MOM: "Oh really why is that?"
DQ: "Well it's really unhealthy."
MOM: "Really?"
DQ: "Yeah it has a lot of salt, and is cooked in oil, it also has a lot of fat and makes your body and heart work to hard, it clogs things up."
MOM: "Oh wow your right." (as she looks to the teacher with a who the hell is this kid look) "Do you ever have McDonald's?"
DQ: "Yes but only sometimes cause it's a sometimes food not an all the time food.  All the time food is fruit and vegetables and healthy things like that."
MOM: "Ummm your right thank you."  (the look now is WTF get me outta here)
DQ: "Your welcome. Oh and you have to run and go to the gym too cause that's healthy too."

Ummm yeah so that really happened, how do I know cause my best bud Mel is one of DQ's teachers and heard the whole thing.  She said that the mom was all flustered and looking to her like who the hell is this kid,  all while Mel is trying not to laugh!!

So Yeah that's how you know when your healthy habits are rubbing off...

Hot Pink -40lb GOAL!!!!

button

Almost made it...

Today's number is 181.8  another -1.4 loss  so as it stands I weigh 181.8 and made it to my -40lbs goal!

I didn't quite make my goal of reaching the 170's by this month, but if you read my Fat to Fit  post I've come to be ok with it.  I can't say I've broken up with my bitch of a scale, but I am taking everything she says with a grain of salt, and cozying up to my tape measure a little more.  Maybe one day I will break the scale addiction, but for now I don't let it dictate my mood one way or the other.

There is a lot going on in the way of fitness lately.  I just resigned for more training sessions with Soben, and tomorrow we will be starting a Biggest Loser type thing at work.  Got to get summer ready, so I'm excited with all the motivation around and can't wait to write more about it.

I'll leave you with another pic of myself ;) these are a pair of cute hot pink boyfriend jeans  cause ya'll know my guy totally rocks the hot pink denim I picked up at Kohls for $20.  I am trying to be good and do most of my shopping at thrift stores but once in awhile I can't help getting something new (on sale mostly) that is totally awesome.

Instead of getting  a purse for reaching goal I got these
pants, and my super cute "Easter" dress.

Easter, Balloons, and Squats

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!!!

This Easter was pretty mellow.  Saturday after DQ's soccer game the Grammie's and Bob came over for brunch and some egg dyeing. Though on Sunday when DQ cracked one to eat turns out I didn't cook them quite enough and instead we ended up with egg mush doh!

As planned we went to my brothers up in Victorville (basically there is nothing but dirt up there ugg) that was after my early morning 5 miler woot woot!  It was much less drama than I expected maybe cause it was early in the day and the beers/mimosas hadn't fully taken effect yet.  Any way I brought my fruit salad as planned and some healthy/low fat Pumpkin Muffins yumm.  I did indulge just a bit and had one two mimosas.  As you can see by my plate I was actually pretty good.  I added it all up and it came out to about 938 calories which yes is a lot but it was also my breakfast and lunch combined so alls good cause I made sure to run extra hard for that sh*t.

My brother and two of his horses.  Who knew he'd be a horse guy, we grew up near the beach in a total suburb...I guess that's what dirt does to ya I kid sort of but it totally works in my favor as DQ is obsessed with them.

After brunch we sent the big girls out to hide the millions of eggs for the littles and then let them have at it.  My mom was pretty clever and put the girls names on the eggs and they could only pick up theirs and couldn't tell the others where theirs where.  It was awesome and kept them busy twice as long.

and of course here is a pic of my adorbs dress that I found at Target (it has little anchors on it..dying),  and yes I totally rocked it.

Oh and I'm sure your all wondering about SIL  well this is how it went:
SIL: "Wow your looking great you've lost even more."
ME:  "Thank you, not really though only like 3-4 pounds but I've been doing more weigh training. Your looking pretty good too." (she has lost like 50 pounds)
SIL:  "Ya I really need to start working out I just don't have the time and when I do I want to spend it with the girls" (backhanded much)
ME: "I understand" *smile*

Fast forward to the drive home

ME:  "You were totally checking out SIL butt weren't you?" haha
Hubs:  "Oh you saw that" lol
Me:  "Sure did but why the puzzled look?"
Hubs: "Well she's lost alot of weight and her butt is smaller but...."
Me:  "But what?"
Hubs:  "Well it kinda looks like two deflated balloons"

And this ladies, is why we do Squats!!!

I don't have time, I make time!

Fat to Fit Link Up

I've noticed that some of the earlier blogs I read have kinda vanished so I've been scoping out blogland for some new reads and motivation cause I have so much free time ya know and it's not like I want to actually clean my house or get stuff done.  So I've stumbled on to a couple of really good ones that fricken funny and a little wrong (in a good way).

One of them is the Mustache Diaries by Marcy  she pretty much keeps it real and doesn't sugar coat it.  So today she and two friends Jenna and Lori are doing a Link up!

So  I mentioned in my last post how the scale is slow going lately and as most of you know I am a total scale whore....yes I just totally said that.  So it's been pretty crappy feeling like I'm eating so well working my ass off at the gym and staying in groove with running (which I actually have been doing I know I'm pretty surprised myself), and seeing such slow progress.

So I decided to quit procrastinating and take some new progression pics and measurements. You can see all my before and afters here.

HOLY CRAP!! That scale is a lying B*tch.....(ok not really I guess it does say I've lost 38lbs but being at this almost a year and the work I feel I put in it should say more)

Measurements
May 2012                  March 2013
              Waist  49"                           38"             -11"
             Hips   51"                           46"             -5"
                   Bust   41.75"                       38"            -3.75"
                   Arms  15.75"                    13.5"            -2.25"
                 Thighs   27"                      24.50"           -2.5

That's a total loss of 24.5"   Booya!!!

So I guess this means I really need to not focus on the numbers so much and take more motivation away from the tape measure  (he might have to become my new BBF).

Wake Up Sleeping Beauty

So to keep up with my running cause I've been doing a pretty shitty job as of late and spend time with my family so they actually remember I do live here I decided that I am going to wake my sorry butt up and run in the mornings on Thursdays so I have the evenings to nag spend quality time with them.

This may not seem very daunting to most but for me this means waking up at 3:30AM  to be on the road for work by 5:15AM.  So today was my first Thursday and of course DQ was up all night with a cough.  At 3:30  I called off work and seriously debated going back to bed (I have to stay home all day with a sick kiddo I need my strength...right??)  I even got as far as climbing back into bed...and stayed there for a whole 5 minutes before good choices or guilt but what ev kicked in.  I got dressed  grabbed a banana and off I went.

Yes folks that's AM

That gym was a ghost town, only a few hard core peeps were there (look at me I'm hard core!)  and I totally kicked some treadmill butt HELL YA!  Though it was hard to get up I love morning runs and always do better than in the afternoon or evening.

Look at all that liquid awesome!!
and that weird face, what was I doing?

A little full body shot for ya.

I'm so glad I didn't flake this morning I felt great afterwards.  Then I remembered I have a session with my trainer this afternoon at 5PM doh...  Oh well looks like a double hitter today, but at least I will be home sooner that if I stayed a ran afterward.  Also since I was home with DQ I was able to get a crapton of stuff done today (which means I spent the day cleaning the house).

Do you like to workout in the mornings or in the evenings?

Surf City Recap (This is a Long One Folks)

I Did It!!!  And I didn't die....not even close...

All I can say is WOW! forgive me I'm sure I will totally over use the exclamation marks and the word awesome. But this was the coolest thing I thing I have ever done (besides give birth and get married of course well sort of ).

Anyway I spent most of Saturday relaxing and doing laundry oh joy  and trying not to syke myself out about the race the next day.  I actually slept really well, the hubs is still sick but told me to take the bed because I have worked really hard and needed to get my rest for the race, aww so sweet. And a Great BIG Thank You to Grammie C and Bob for keeping the Drama Queen for the weekend it was one less thing I had to figure out.  They are the best and I love them sooo much!

I woke up early on Sunday to give myself enough time to eat (my usual an English muffin with PB and a banana) and let nature happen no runner trots for this girl. This was the outfit I had laid out isn't the shirt such a pretty color.

My Mom picked me up at about 5:45am the race was in Huntington Beach about 45mins from me and we wanted to have enough time with traffic down there, which was crazy! It was pretty bad so mom had to drop me off then go find parking on her own, which was good and gave me time to hit up the port-o-johns.  Damn those lines were looong, but at least they moved fast.  I was also able to meet up with my friend Heather we have been texting and pumping each other up for the race and weren't sure if we were going to be able to find each other.  It was great we waited together for the start.  They let you go in waves so it didn't get congested.  Heather is much faster than me but we decided to stay together until the start then split and it worked great I wasn't as nervous having a friend there to chat with.

Heather and I waiting to start.
I started strong and just kept moving one foot in front of the other. I did stop once at mile 3 to pee I probably could have kept going but I didn't want to get near the end and be totally uncomfortable or pee my pants.  I also had to stop for a few seconds at mile 10 to stretch out my left calf.  I could feel it tighten up a lot and didn't want to get a full blown cramp, and that helped.  It was a great race they have "beach" style bands playing all along the course  and tons of spectators some even passing out M&M's and Fig Newtons for a sugar boost and some really cute signs. The weather was beautiful (actually it was beatiful if I was watching the race lol I prefer it colder and overcast) the sun was out the waves were pounding the beach.  It truly was a classic California day. There were all sorts of people big, small, fit, fluffy, young and old it was such an inspiration, some walked, some ran, some even rolled (the wheelchair racers).

This was about mile 6, look at all those people.

I snapped this mid run at mile 10 while I put on some Power music
to get me through the last 3 miles.
Those last 3 miles were tough I could feel my energy going and had to slow down and walk a bit more than I wanted but I told myself slow and steady I will get there, and that the last mile I would run all of it. And I did It was a slow run but I did that whole last one and when I saw the finish line I just sprinted that last .10 it took everything I had left.  As soon as I crossed that finish line the tears just came.  I could not believed I had actually done it!!  A few feet in front (behind the gate)  was my mom and my two friends CareBear and Nell they were cheering like crazy and the tears came again it was just so emotional I can;t even find the words for it. But is was the best feeling I have ever had.

After grabbing some water and a banana I asked if they had seen Erin come through yet and they hadn't.  We had figured since she was doing the full and started almost 2 hrs. before me we would finish close to the same time.  So I stayed in the chutes near the medals and about 15 minutes later Erin comes flying in YAY!!! We did it!  We gave each other the biggest hugs and both cried (I was such a baby) it was AWESOME!!!

I LOVE this picture we are so happy and still standing.
Notice I'm wearing my "magic" shoes, I'll tell you about it soon.
Then we headed out to meet up with our cheering section which also included Erin's husband and parents.  We were planning on hitting up the beer garden but it was packed and I was starving so we ended up going to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and this was lunch.  A tostada salad and a Corona yumm I only ate about half of my lunch but drank down that beer.  I am so not a beer person I prefer wine and/or fruity girl drinks but that beer tasted so damn good.

A pic of me and my awesome cheering squad.

So my official time was 2:52:28 YAY I was under my 3hour goal and don't forget that included one potty stop and a stretch stop.  My Garmin said 2:48:24 because it pauses when I stop, so my actual moving time was really great and I averaged a 12:50 mile. Can I get a WOOT WooT!!

As I sit here and type this (on and off all day) Erin and I have been texting each other, we weren't sure how we would feel today so we both took the day off but we both feel great. I have a little soreness in my knees but that's nothing new.  I actually felt so good that I cleaned my poor neglected house and even went to the gym with TaTa for Aqua Aerobics.  In our texts we were both very happy that it was over but also quite sad,   then Erin asked me the question....Will you do another???

Know what I said...

HELL YA!!

Sh*t Just Got Real

I can't believe it's finally here!!

Tomorrow is the Surf City Half Marathon, and to tell you the truth I'm so excited, scared, happy, nervous, proud, and any other emotion you can think of.  Four months ago when I signed up for this I was very unsure if I was gonna be able to do it...to be completely honest I'm still unsure (really I'm not trying to be self deprecating I'm just being truly honest here) but what I do know is that I am prepared and that is all I can be.  I have worked hard, trained hard and even given up time with my family to get to this point (that has been the hardest part and I am working on a post about that so stay tuned).  It has been stressful and fulfilling all at the same time so no matter what happens I know I have tried my best...and holy crap I ran 73.5 miles this month alone!

Here I am Thursday on my last training run it was bitter sweet and I came to the realization that shit just got real!!     This is it.

Wearing my very cute new shirt for Sunday to make sure
it "felt right" I LOVE the color and it has cute flattering runching up the front.

Erin and I hit up the Expo on Friday to pick up our bibs and stuff, it was pretty cool we walked around a bit (I was actually surprised at how small the expo was for how big the race is going to be, at least 20,000 strong) anyway it was well organized and we breezed through it in no time.  Then Erin was a gem and drove the course so I could get a visual and mentally prepare.  It is definitely more "hilly" than where I run but nothing to major I hope, and the last four miles are on a decline so that is way good.

Tomorrow this will be reality and much more sweaty!

Coughing, Splits, and 10 Miler

My morning did not start off as great as I had hoped or planned.  The Hubs started coughing yesterday and it got progressively worse as the evening continued so bad in fact that around 3am I headed to the couch.  Then commenced the tossing and turning for a few hours and then I finally dozed off, I finally woke up around 7am ugg. I had planned on getting up around 5:30ish and get out the door about 6:30-7 so needless to say I didn't get out until 8:30 and was a little sore to boot damn couch.

Once I got outside and started to move things felt better and began to loosen up and it was my ideal running conditions a bit chilly, overcast and even a little threat of rain (which never happened, so perfect).  It was a great run, I felt good and though it always takes me a few miles to find my groove I loved it.  The only bummer was I got a cramp in my left calf and had to walk more than I wanted because every time I tried to run it would tighten up on me pretty bad.  I'm not sure why I got a cramp that has never happened before and I was really good at making sure I hydrated well the day before.  The only thing I did different was I did get a massage on Friday to help loosen my muscles and I skipped my morning coffee... Don't think it was the coffee but maybe the massage (but oh it was heaven).

So I finally figured out how to get a screen shot of my splits (Thanks TaTa) so here they are:

Not too bad, so my next long run will take place on Sunday, 13 point freaking 1!!!
Surf City ready or not here I come....

Oh and my updated pics and measurements did not fall out of my head, I just ran out of time and my camera wasn't charged :(  but I did take my measurements and they are looking pretty good)  I'll get them up soon promise.

Great Start

What a great start to the weekend!!!

Last night I went to the Surf City site to confirm myself for the race next weekend (HOLY CRAP NEXT WEEKEND!!!) and look up my bib number and got this sweet surprise....

I know this may not jump out at you but to me it was like a sign!  My lucky number is 19 and has been since like, well birth seeing as my birthday is on the 19th.  It is also TaTa's birthday.  I tried to get DQ's birthday on the 19th as well but the doc said that was pushing it to far (I had a scheduled C-section).  And as far as the 3 my goal is to finish in under 3 hours so kinda neat.

Then this morning I got on to my computer to catch up on all my blog reading and saw this!

OMGoodness!!!  Talk about awesome I won my very first giveaway EVER!!!
Simpy Sarchet  had a giveaway of her favorite things and I won! YAY how exciting I've never won anything in my life...so with these two awesome things I'm hoping like really really reeaallyy hoping this is a sign of things to come, (say like a good race experience next weekend.)  Oh and you should soo go check out Simply Sarchet Amanda is awesome-sauce.

Now off to bed I go have a 10 miler in the morning.  Oh and it would be great if it wasn't raining (just putting it out there) Night all

Torture, Scars, and Huell Howser

Well will you  look at this....  (awww Huell Howser you will be missed, especially by my crazy husband who has watched   every episode of your shows and thinks he really knew you)

My left knee from when I slipped on the ice and fell.
please don't mind that shmutz on my pant leg it's
a bit of lotion I put on before taking this sexy pic of my legs
a girl can't look ashy on the interweb can she :)

These are scratch marks left by my heart rate monitor .

Erin and I were texing each other after our long runs on Sunday and comparing them then we moved on to comparing battle wounds lol, We were laughing saying that this is probably considered torture in some places.  I knew running would be hard on my body but I didn't know it would leave actual scars! Yikes oh well I guess it gives me character.

Birthday Parties and Ice Patches

I was so not ready for this weekend I was so freaking tired all week, and Drama Queen had not one, but two birthday parties to go to and I had my longest run EVER......

but it was AWESOME!!!

We started off running late as usual Saturday morning and had to go pick up DQ at Grammie C's then head off to party #1 it was for a family friend her little guy was turning 5.  It was a typical BDay party, bounce house, pizza, and cake.  I felt bad that we got there a bit late and could only stay a little over an hour but that meant I was not tempted by the food too much and we left before cake (bad for DQ but good for me :)  Then we headed for to party #2 it was for her "boyfriend"  G3 (the one we always go to Disneyland with) so she was super excited about that!  I was dreading and looking forward to this one.  Looking forward because I LOVE G3's  mom & dad and, his Aunt Barbie is one of my coworkers and running buddies.  Dreading because that also meant a lot of parents from my job would be there so I couldn't totally let loose lol cause you know I can be a bit CRAYZEE ya right.

But is was a blast yes also typical party fare bounce house, face painting, pinata and  pizza (one piece) and cupcakes (only one and it was so flipping good) and I was running 9 miles he next day so that so counts as carb loading right?

A mash up of birthday party fun!

Oh and one other thing at G3's party this little baby was quite a hit!  The adult stuff on the sides came out later when most of  the "work" parents went home (except for a few who are cool like us) lol! and I only had one promise!

Then  this morning came I made sure to go to bed early because to be honest I was scared.  I had nine miles on the schedule today.  My longest run ever!!! So I got up early to give myself time to fuel properly and let things happen *wink*  and to catch up on a show or two who am I kidding.

So this was breakfast a coffee protein drink, whole wheat English muffin with PB and a banana.

Then off I went 9 freaking miles....9!!!  Holy crap!

It was one of the best runs I think I've ever had.  I started off running the block around my house then about mile 2 I ate shit!  I slipped on a piece of ice and hit the ground HARD.  I landed on my left knee.  OUCH!! i couldn't believe it.  I live in Southern California I was not aware of this phenomena ice on the ground?? I know, I know, spoiled we are but I never even thought to look for it.  Anyway after I went down I got my self up and limped a bit off the ice and walked a few minutes with tears in my eyes trying to shake it off.  I was determined not to let it ruin this run, so off I went to finish 7 more miles.   It was great at one point a great P!nk song came on Try, and I know it's about love but something about that line "Where there is desire, there's gonna be a flame, where there is a flame someones bound to get burned, but just because it burns doesn't mean your gonna die. You gotta get up and try, try, try..."  just get's me.  I  love it to me it kind represents my relationship with running.  I have the desire and the flame is there, but damnn it BURNS, but I WILL NOT DIE and I will TRY, TRY, TRY....so when it came on I just started crying.... I musta' looked a hot mess, tears, snot, and sweat, but I felt AMAZING like I could do anything and hell I was.....

My run in a nutshell! including that damn piece of ice I slipped on.

Wednesday Weigh-In # 27

Not to much of a move 195.6 up just a tiny smidge 0.2 but I am good. I've had quite a few NSV's lately and feel great!!

Also 0.2 gain is actually pretty great considering I was away for 4 days, totally out of routine. I did make decent food choices and tried to get in a walk and did a  workout DVD ( yup made sure to bring one). But there were dinners out and some major wine consumption!  Also I skipped my 4 mile run on Sunday.  But now we are back and back to normal.

Another NSV,  it was very very cold and I so wasn't prepared
so The hubs offered his Thermal saying "sorry it might be a little
tight though"...  Ya not so much!

10.24.2012

Weigh-In Wednesday #26

Today's # is 195.4 and is brought to you by:
Half Marathon Training   ...lol can you tell I've been watching Sesame Street...

That's down 2.6 pounds from last week SWEET!

And to make it even a better week here are two NSV ( non scale victories)
The first is the shirt I'm wearing it's actually TaTa's she asked if I could fit into it, so I tried (mind you it is a large and she is normally a medium but sometime she likes it a bit baggy)  but so fricken what and it even looks good!!! So exciting I have officially borrowed the first of many items of clothing from her.
pardon the bathroom signs in the back but funny
thing is I have NO full length mirrors in my house
but that will be changing soon though

The second is these jeans are too big yay!  I bought them back in April and they were very tight but I figured I would eventually get in to them, now it's almost time to retire them :)

these babies are right out of the dryer too!

10.22.2012

First Week Done

So my first "official" training week is done and it went really good (I'm following Hal Higdon's Half Marathon Novice 1) .  I was a little nervous at first though the running days are the same, but the mileage is a little longer.  Normally my shorter runs are from 2-2.5miles and the longer Sunday runs are 3-4 miles but now the short runs are minimum 3 miles so the mileage has definitely increased.  Also it is taking me a little getting used to the "have to run this distance" instead of "I'll see how many miles I can bust out before I go make dinner".

Overall though it's been a great week and I found a great little running/biking trail near the house.  I live in a very suburban area and it's not very interesting to look at while run (think miles of cement and houses and not much else), so this little trail is a nice change of pace. Also it's mostly asphalt so my knees are thanking me today.

So next up is venturing into the world of Gu and Shot Blocks...

This is what 4 miles looks like, a hot sweaty
feel good mess.

10.16.2012

What have I Done?

So I told ya'll I did something crazy and I was not lying... I actually still can't believe that I really did it and now I'm getting a little scared...

I am running a Half Marathon!!!

Yup you read that right to be specific I signed up for the Surf City Half Marathon in Huntington Beach California, on Super Bowl Sunday if your anything like me and pay no attention to football that's Feb. 3rd.

I have always dreamed of running walking, crawling a Half Marathon and always tell myself that when I become "a better runner" I will do it. So as I was chatting with Erin the other day  she said " Sign up... Just do it, you can totally rock this besides what do you have to lose?" And then the kicker  "if you do the half I'll upgrade to the full." Now I know this is a big deal for her, yes she has run 24 Half Marathons, but she has only ever run one full one before which was terrible ( according to her) and to quote her " I am NEVER doing that shit again" so for her to take that on I knew she had some faith in me or she is just a glutton for punishment and digs torture.

So before I could even think about it I did it... And was so happy for about 5 mins. Then I thought what the hell have I done " Oh. God. I can't possibly run a half marathon, how the hell do I get out of this one?" But then that's why I signed up without thinking cause if I had taken any more time I would have talked myself out of it like always.

I have learned a bit about myself and even a few things about other people on this weight loss life style change, like I would never become "a better runner" I would always find an excuse or a reason I couldn't do it, just like with losing weight. But I'm doing just that yes it may be slower than I like, but it's doable and I actually enjoy it (yes I just said I enjoyed eating healthy and exercising). So why not run that half marathon.  I may be slow, I may will have to walk, but I CAN do this!

So there you go that's my big news, if you have any tips I would love to hear them cause to tell ya the truth I'm still scared ....

The -20lb Difference

I know I lagged a bit on getting this up, but finding a time to get TaTa and I home and free (even for just a few minutes) is pretty near impossible lately.  Then to actually get the photos uploaded and posted takes all of forever five minutes so you know lol.  Any way here they are, the shirts are the same style just a different color cause my brain is a sieve and I can't seem to find the black one.

So it's not actually -20lbs on the dot but close enough :)  I also posted the measurements this time.  It seems that this last 10 lbs has taken so much longer to come off than the first 10 lbs I don't know if it was just the lull of summer or the lack of running ding ding ding yes that would be it.  But when the scale stopped moving I took the advice of almost everyone out there who has had the same problem and took measurements.  Overall I've lost 15 1/2 inches I'd say that is a pretty big deal and one I'm super happy about.

Oh and just so ya'll know I hit my mark and logged in 25.9 miles for the month YAY!!!!! It also didn't hurt that I had publicly put it out there so I knew I had to do it :) can't be lettin you think I'm a big ole' loser.
So that being said I'm working on a post of goals I want to accomplish for October. That way you all will keep me in check!

Weigh-In Wednesday #22

Wellp I stayed the same 196.0 no loss, but no gain either.  I'll take it seeing as how I only got in one run (and a short one at that) and being sick, so like I predicted it all evened out in the end.

I'm glad to say I think we are finally finding our groove on the home front, between school, working out, and now starting this week dun..dun..dun... HOMEWORK!  Drama Queen is so different than her big sis TaTa. It's like pulling teeth to get her to sit down for 5 min and do some homework, not like  TaTa as she was a little sponge and loved doing any kind of school work and for the most part still does .  So now this is the new challenge at home, if any one has any suggestions I'd love to hear them :)

Also I'm starting to get excited the Color Run is coming up pretty quick (Nov. 2nd) in San Diego and we are hoping to make a weekend of it. So I'm looking into hotels and stuff and trying to coordinate who wants to stay, one or two nights and all that jazz it's kinda a pain in the ass but I'm hoping totally worth it.

Weigh-In Wed. #21 (I think?)

196!!!!  Booyah!!!

When I got on the scale this morning I was pretty confidant I'd be down, since I've been getting my mileage in, but I never thought I would be down 4.8 holy crap on a stick.  So let's see I ran 11.37 miles last week and lost 4.8 lbs that equals about 2.36 miles per pound.  Not bad :)  Now to keep it going...

Hittin it Hard

So as I've been saying over and over again so I will convince myself to do it I need to get back on track with running ( like what I did there, track running, haha I kill me), I've been slacking since about mid to late July and nosed dived in Aug.  When I started the at the gym in Sept. it was suppose to be so I could run on the treadmill instead of melting by running on the surface of the sun outside, but then I was lulled away by all the fancy classes and new machines and as I said so many times that you are sick of hearing it I only lose the weight when I run.  So now I am getting back to it FOR REALS THIS TIME!!! and I've been totally hittin hard. Check out that awesome sweat!

Though Sept. is almost over my goal is to log at least 25 miles for the month.

You scream I scream

Just a quick post about something amazing... I think these LSC (life style changes) are finally catching on and becoming a habit!!

I'm sure most of you know I have a MAJOR sweet tooth and pretty much have to have dessert everyday.  Every time I would start a diet I would swear of sweets ya like that worked, then a few weeks down the line would binge like crazy on anything I could get my hands on be it a box of cookies or a tub of ice cream or both.  So when starting this "new" healthy life I had to figure out a way to incorporate my sugar addiction,  I decided I would just give in but on a way smaller scale.  So yes I still have dessert but I keep it with in reason like 2-3 cookies instead of as box, a small brownie and not the pan a scoop of ice cream not the carton.  I will admit it was hard at first and sometime still is but I am getting way better at it and sometimes it even come naturally.

A before and after of choices. On the left is the now, one regular scoop  and the giant red mug
is what I used to eat filled to the top and packed in.
