WiW…Waffles and Workouts

It's a weigh in wednesday with no actual weigh-in, this week.

It's got a little to do with this...
But mostly because I wasn't home.  Yesterday was DQ's back to school night so I stayed at Carrie's house and got to sleep in a whole hour (5:30)!!  But yes after the school thing, Grammie and I went to Bruxie's for dinner.  It was sooo good and worth every bite, I will be going again but maybe as a treat meal after a killer hike or a race.

I have been killing the workouts again Monday DQ had a bit of a pool party hangover (aka too much swimming in water not enough drinking it) and didn't feel good so she stayed home.  When the hubs got home I was able to hit the gym before the after work crowd.
Since it was pretty empty still I did something I never do... free weights.  I don't know why I feel so uncomfortable "lifting" on my own but I really like it so I put on my big girl panties and did it!

I have a few of these workouts I put together and printed out, but I felt a little like a dork bringing in the paper so I just too a picture with my phone and referred back to that  when I needed to.

Guess what no one stared, no one pointed and laughed or told me I din't know what I was doing, in fact no really cared.  I got in a great workout, and felt awesome!

and even though I don't have a "scale" measurement today I have this.

Pictures can speak a thousand words.

Linking up with WiW, and Fitness Blondie.

Weigh-In Wednesday..a New Year Begins

button

Happy WIW.  I'm on the down side of the Yo-Yo this week 182.0 so that's -1.4 pounds lost this week.  I really was hoping to start May off in the 170's but alas that is not the case yet again this month.  It is driving me crazy that I can't seem to break this 180 mark ugh!   So I'm going to come up with a plan and set some goals for this month and break through that effing wall.

On another but similar note,

I can't believe I've been doing this for a whole freaking YEAR!!

In this last year I've only lost 40 pounds.  I say only because when I started my "new life"  I figured I would almost be at goal by now or hell at least close.  But I'm about half way there and even though I tend to bitch about how slowly the scale is moving, it is moving.  Maybe not every week but at least it's been pretty consistent and I don't feel as I have been starving myself, or been on a crazy crash diet that I can't maintain for the long haul.  It's been slow sooo slooww  and steady and it is something I have come to realize I CAN do for the rest of my life cause that folks is what it is. This IS the rest of my life.

In a year I may not have reached my "goal" weight but here are some awesome things that HAVE happened:

1. I went from a size 20 at 221lbs to a size 14 at 180ish

2. I couldn't even run a mile a year ago and in Feb of this year I ran my first Half Marathon

3. I actually have MUSCLES!!   I can do bicep curls with 17.5lb  weights and leg press 110lbs!

4.  I am HAPPIER and more CONFIDANT!!!

So even though I'm not yet where I want to be,  I am so far from where I was.

I can totally handle that!

Oh and totally go check out Erin and Alex and link up with their awesome Weigh-In Wednesday Par-TAy!  There are some cool peeps hanging out over there :)

Bars, Converse, and Towels

This weekend was filled with so many surprises and they were all good!!

It actually started on Thursday, the girls and I went out to happy hour at the yard house to celebrate Barbies birthday.  I was actually pretty good only one Blue Moon and one Gobstopper Martini (though I really wanted another 3 they are that good, but I was a driver) and split and appetizer BBQ Chicken Pizza with CareBear.

You have a BABY in a BAR!!!   Yup I'm that mom.

Then the other girls went out to another bar but being the good girl that I am, I took DQ and I back to CareBears for bed.  Also I am totally OK taking DQ to Happy Hour and a restaurant bar, but pretty sure it would be fully frowned upon to take her to a full blown bar at least after 9pm.

When I got home on Friday the Hubs surprised me with a quick overnight at the Mission Inn for a little R&R which was sooo needed and totally awesome!  The hotel was absolutely beautiful and super fancy.  After checking in and freshening up we headed to the Presidential Lounge (named for all the Presidents that have stayed there) for some drinks and piano jazz while we waited for our dinner reservations.  Dinner was YUM and very romantic.  I very rarely eat red meat (just my preference) but I ended up having the filet mignon and it didn't disappoint.

So romantic *hearts*

It was so nice we really wanted to stay longer but had lots to do Saturday (so we are going to just have to go again darn...lol) But I had a great NSV while I was there.  When I got out of the shower the towel actually wrapped all the way around me!!!  I normally take my own beach towel *hence big ass towel* so I can wrap it around me while I get ready but since this was so last minute I forgot.  It totally made my day.

and finally Saturday afternoon I was so excited to take family pics of my Bestie Kyss, her hub and two dogs.  Then I got this surprise

I'm going to be an AUNTIE!!  I'm so excited.  When we got to the location I asked if the had any ideas, and they said a few then pulled out these tiny Converse.  I totally freaked and started to cry.  I am just so happy for them.  They are going to be such awesome parents.  So "family" pics were actually announcement pics.

How was your weekend?    Did you have any surprises?

Wednesday Weigh-In # 27

Not to much of a move 195.6 up just a tiny smidge 0.2 but I am good. I've had quite a few NSV's lately and feel great!!

Also 0.2 gain is actually pretty great considering I was away for 4 days, totally out of routine. I did make decent food choices and tried to get in a walk and did a  workout DVD ( yup made sure to bring one). But there were dinners out and some major wine consumption!  Also I skipped my 4 mile run on Sunday.  But now we are back and back to normal.

Another NSV,  it was very very cold and I so wasn't prepared
so The hubs offered his Thermal saying "sorry it might be a little
tight though"...  Ya not so much!
