WIW...Out of My Comfort Zone

   Weigh In Wednesday

I'm down another pound 175.  It may not be much but this makes two weeks with a loss which is more than it's been in a while.  Slow and steady that's just he way it is for me.

This week has been pretty good Sunday I did a 5k run before the hubs went to work,
and Monday I was planning on going to the gym, but when I got home it was so darn hot and as I looked out the sliding glass door to the backyard I yelled at DQ to get her suit on and we played in the pool for almost two hours, and I mean play,  no lounging in the sun that day. I did a lot of stuff we do in aqua like running, wall explosions, jack and what ever elseI could remember.

Yesterday I totally stepped out of my comfort zone and hit up a Pilates class at my gym.  I met the teacher at a body pump class I took and I loved her teaching style (turns out she's a math teacher by day maybe that's why) she really took the time to make sure we were doing the lifts right and giving the more advanced class goers some hints on how to improve or tweak it to really get the most out of the class.
She and mentioned she also teaches Pilates I've always wanted to try it so I went.   I  really want to say I loved it, but I don't think it's for me.  Maybe before surgery I would have enjoyed it or could do it  but it is all core work and some moves it felt like my abs were going to rip apart... So I won't be doing that again  Maybe I'll try yoga?  Though Pilates wasn't for me I was happy I did a little something to step out of my comfort zone.

Another thing I did this weekend that was WAY out of my comfort zone was to put on an actual bikini!! Yes you heard that right.  I was a little nervous which was funny because it was on Sunday when it was just the Hubs and DQ.  But I haven't worn a bikini in over 15 years. I just thought,  I have worked hard to lose  weight,  Carrie had given me one as a hand me down and damn my belly is white.   So in all my whitness and imperfections here it is.

wow look at the difference my poor belly needs to see the sun!

What have you done to step out of your comfort zone??

Wendnesday Weigh-In... The Plan

It's that time again...

I'm up one pound.... 173.8
I expected this if I said I wasn't a little bummed I'd be lying but every time I run a half I always retain a bit of weight I've come to accept it, like no, but I'll deal.  I swear you run 13.1 miles for 3+ hours  in 75 degree heat you think the fat would just melt off right....why do I keep doing it I'll never know cause I'll tell you the truth running kinda sucks but I just can't quit it.
It's ok cause I got a plan. Now that the half is over (and there isn't another until Oct.) it's time to move on to other things.  Just look
I am working on a plan of action.  I want to get back to my Aqua and Body Pump classes (as long as I do light weights for a while longer I think the doc will be ok with it but when do I ever listen)I also want  to do more lifting in general.  But honestly I'm a little nervous.  I have a hard time lifting on my own .  I LOVE it, but I feel more comfortable with someone telling me what to do.  (God do I miss my trainer Soben, but my pocketbook just doesn't have the wiggle room to make it happen right now).  So I am researching, studying, pinteresting <--- new word? and making lists
(I love lists, I am a total list maker).  I will make this happen!
So if any of you have any advice or tips please send them my way.
I need that scale to move the hell down.   I think I'll also start posting my weekly goals here or on instagram (I really haven't figured it all out yet)  I like the idea of weekly better than monthly,  I always start out strong but then towards the end lose steam.  And since we are talking goals I didn't do great but I wasn't horrible on my April goals  I only missed a total of 4 days of not drinking warm lemon water and 3 of not hitting my fitbit goal.  But I didn't lose 5 pounds and one week I got zero miles in for running.  I did great all my fruits and veggies in (that one was pretty easy I love em')
So even though this week is half over I'm NOT going to do the wait till Monday thing Let's get this shit started NOW!!!

See I already started yesterday :)

Weekly goals May 5-11
1. At least 2 Body Pump Classes
2. One lifting session on my own (gotta break out of my comfort zone some how)
3. Walk/Run at least 3 miles for the week
(I know this seems low, but I did just do 13.1 my legs need a little rest right...)
Oh and one more thing I started a Facebook page I would love for you to go and check it out Here.
Thanks so much you are awesome!

As always I hooked up with the girls Heather, Ash and Erin for WiW and I've also linked up with
Shanna from because Shanna said so... I love her outfits they are adorns, and Amber from Fit Foodie Runs.

No Workouts a Blog Fail ...So Cookies it is.

This is was what I was planning for this weekend!  I just got them (the Reebok Dumbells and the C9 Yoga Mat, thank you Target for the sale)  on Wednesday and was looking forward to trying them out with some YouTube work outs I found.

workout, yoga mat, fitness
I will get to use this soon!

But that didn't happen... remember I went to the doctors Thursday for my recheck (if your new hi :) I had a desmoid tumor removed from my abdomen about 8 weeks ago. You can read more about it here.)  Well turns out a little piece  of my incision was open, he didn't seemed worried and it hasn't bothered me at all so he just smeared some stuff on it (I assumed it was like glue or something).  But the next morning I woke up and more of the  incision was open!!  Holy crap I called them and they said as long as it's not oozing GROSS or hurting to just take it easy and come in Monday.

So instead I did a lot of cooking and a bit of cleaning, (so my house thanks me) and I did catch up on some of my shows like Under The Gunn, Shameless, and I'm kinda liking this season's cast of Dancing with the Stars, it's going to be a dual of the 90's girls. Not sure if I'm Team DJ Tanner, or Winnie Copper yet, I loved them both.

Back to cooking I was craving something sweet as always
and I had a shit ton of brown bananas again...

ripe, fruit, mashed, brown
why do I always have so many brown bananas

So I found a great recipe  for healthy cookies made with of course bananas, chocolate, oats, and PB, on my Pinterest board (you can follow me here.)
It's from Six Sisters and is a great little sweet tooth satisfier for only 47 calories per cookie, and it's pretty easy to make.  DQ wasn't as thrilled but I am still working to improve her pallet from junky overly sweet food to better less sugary foods I blame her Dad haha.
God give me strength and patients with that girl ... I NEED it.
healthy, peanut butter, banana, chocolate
Little bites of yumm
Oh another good thing that came out of the weekend and all the sitting, is I finally figured out how to host a linky party so this weeks Fab Friday will be a link up... Make sure to join up!
And finally I am STILL workin' on putting all my missing pictures back on old posts.  Every single picture was deleted (that was over 600ish in the last 2 years) UGH... Google Plus is NOT my friend. #blogfail

How was your weekend?  Eat any yummy healthyish treats?

NOOOoooo!!!!

No, No, No this can't be happening!!   Life is so unfair!!

Looks like I'm running my half ALONE :(

I know can you freaking believe it this totally sucks balls!  Barbie and I were so excited Monday, making plans on what we were going to eat to "carb" load on Saturday night and discussing our water stop plan.  Then Tuesday came and in comes B limping??  WTF ...  Look like our last long run did her in she can barley walk on her foot and when she does the arch of her foot hurts like hell. So that means running is out.  I keep trying to stay positive giving her some tips on icing and reminding her to rest it but it looks like she is not going to run.  She is worried that even if it feels better by Sunday that she's gonna get half way thru and it's going to start up, or she'll make it but then do more damage to it in the long run.  I totally get it and understand I don't want her to hurt herself or anything but it sucks BIG TIME.

I even toyed for a minute of blowing it off and not do it.  I mean if it wasn't for B I wouldn't have signed up for this one.  It's been a crazy busy few weeks and this weekend is the kicker Friday the hubs and I are going to LA to see Bon Jovi and staying a night there, then Saturday is my recup and packing up for race day spending the night at CareBears (since she lives closer to Long Beach) then race day it's insane!

But I can't do it I can't just NOT do it... I've been training, I'm prepared and hell  I paid 100 bucks for this damn race!!  So I'll do it but it certainly has lost some of its luster.  I have always hated running or the thought of running with someone, but in B I found my soul running mate.  It's like running with myself but way better.  We are the sameish pace we both have the same style and we push each other when we need it the most!!   So I will do it but I will miss her.....

Bad, Bad, Blogger....

I am so sorry yet again!  I am a bad, bad blogger.... This month has just been so hectic!

I am glad to say that it will be back to normal finally.  July looks like it will be pretty chill.  So though I did well on my weight loss this month ( I lost another pound this week putting me at 170.4 so close,  so so close to the 160's) I really want to kick it up a notch and get back into a good routine.  Especially after these last two weeks.  Though the scale has been going down I really haven't been getting to the gym. Sure I'm more active in general but I'm feeling a little lazy, and I can feel myself wanting to not go to the gym.  Also I can sense that that is also causing me stress.

My gym time is my alone time, my "me time". I am a pre school teacher and I am always interacting with kids, parents, someone, and it's my job to take care of their needs first.  I love my job there is nothing else I'd rather do  except maybe win the lotto travel the world and shop all day but it does take it's toll not really physically but for sure mentally so when I'm in a good routine I can turn my mind off and just do it!  I love the gym for this, I go in and let my body take over.  It knows it has to do and does it! Even when I have to dig deep and get into it mentally its my needs that are being met and I find strength in that.  Wow that was deep!

So anyway I'm going to make a plan and get myself into a good place brain and body wise and just recharge a bit.  Also I'm really wanting to add a few fun things on here and get back into the habit of better blogging :) so be on the lookout. I'm sure there will be some recipe stuffs on here soon and I'm trying to come up a few other things.... What would you like to see? I'd love any suggestions

And I can't leave ya with out a picture so this is what happens after your baby turns 6....
